BLT’s expert SME (subject matter experts) engineers were recently the instructors for the AMD Regional Technical Training event (RTT) in Longmont, Colorado. It was a weeklong, closed event for AMD, Avnet (an AMD distributor), and AMD Premier Partners. Throughout the week, participants collaborated on the latest AMD technologies, tools, and workflows.
As part of the event, BLT’s expert engineers (SME2) delivered hands-on instruction to AMD and Avnet Field Application Engineers (FAEs) SMEs on embedded x86 processors. The session, held on the final day of RTT, provided practical experience with AMD’s embedded x86 portfolio, including Ryzen Embedded and EPYC Embedded devices.
Being invited by AMD to lead this session is an honor, and reflects the confidence AMD places in BLT’s technical expertise. It highlights BLT’s deep experience with embedded processors, FPGAs, SoCs, and complex system integration, capabilities that drive innovation across aerospace & defense, space, intelligence, and commercial programs.
Hands-On x86 Embedded Processor Training
During the full-day training, BLT engineers guided AMD and Avnet FAEs through key aspects of AMD embedded x86 processors, including processor architecture, system integration, and the interaction between cores, memory systems, and I/O. The session also covered debug and bring-up workflows that enable safe, repeatable testing and validation. Through a series of hands-on labs, participants applied these concepts directly, gaining practical experience that deepened their understanding of AMD embedded x86 technology and how it can be leveraged for advanced, reliable system designs. BLT demonstrated its practical x86 expertise, equipping industry professionals with real-world experience on AMD embedded processors and the kinds of complex systems we design for clients.
